KSU’s Continuing Education Open House set for January 11
Find Your Starting Point
Every new year comes with new challenges and new opportunities. Kennesaw State University’s Continuing Education Dean Barbara Calhoun likes to say, “A new year is an opportunity for growth and development.”
On January 11, 2018, KSU’s College of Continuing and Professional Education will hold an Open House from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the KSU Center (3333 Busbee Drive). The event will highlight the college’s professional certificate programs. The college has over 40 professional programs in the areas of healthcare, management, languages, technology, hospitality and more.
For Patricia Emery, paralegal graduate, the Open House was the starting point of her career in the legal field. After many years of being a stay-at-home mom, Emery attended the Paralegal Certificate information session at the Open House and decided to enroll in the program.
“I was not comfortable trying to market myself after being out of the industry for so long,” Emery said. “I wanted to refresh my skills, and I needed to make myself marketable again.”
As for Dean Calhoun, she says “opportunities abound” at KSU’s Continuing education.
“Our commitment is provide the community and its surrounding areas quality innovative programs that enrich the lives of every individual,” Dean Calhoun said. “It is our desire to see everyone who walks through our doors succeed.”
Career changers, recent college graduates and those seeking to enhance their skillset are encouraged to attend. Continuing Education staff, instructors and graduates will be available at Open House to answer questions and discuss career options. All attendees will receive an exclusive 10 percent discount applied to any personal class or certificate program registration.
Highlighted new programs include:
Administrative Office Management
Certified Financial Planner™ Program
Security Management Professional
Continuing Education financial aid advisors will also be available to discuss payment plans, VA Education Benefits, WIOA and scholarships for select programs. Registration for the free event is encouraged and can be completed online at ccpe.kennesaw.edu or by calling 470-578-6765 after Jan. 2.
