Local business owners served lunch and a round of applause to 300 Kennesaw, GA, elementary teachers during the annual Back To School Bash in late July. In addition to gift cards for each teacher and a lunch to enjoy, the Kennesaw Business Association showered teachers with thanks and support for the coming school year.

Program chair Marlon Longacre campaigns tirelessly on behalf of local schools to help them with additional funds, recognition and scholarships raised by the KBA and its 350+ members.

Each teacher took home a gift bag of $350+ of coupons and gift cards, plus many won more than $20,000 of door prizes, according to Marlon Longacre.

David Persson, owner of The School Box, said “The Back-to-Bash is one of my favorites events that the KBA sponsors each year, especially since I am in the school supply business and work with these schools all year long.”

“I am proud to be a part of an organization that puts such an emphasis on supporting schools in our community. Those teachers look forward to this event every year and even tell the new teachers about it so they won’t miss it. What a wonderful welcome back to school each year.”
